V této hororové komedii převzaly nad naším světem nadvládu zombie. Existuje zde však skupina přeživších vedená Tallahasseem (Woody Harrelson), která se snaží najít úkryt před nemrtvými. Když se k nim přidá zakřiknutý strašpytel Columbus - odborník na přežití (Jesse Eisenberg), bude muset dokázat, že je v něm i něco víc.
